Evaluation 4
How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
we used various different new technologies at all sages of the films development. an example would be that we used a cam corder to record all of the footage for the film. the cameras we used to capture the footage were Sony HD1000. The use of these cameras ensured the highest quality for the film and was needed to make the film look as professional as possible. The high quality microphone on the camera also allowed for the best audio turnout as possible.
for the audio recording of the radio trailer we used a separate recording device to ensure a clearer, more concise quality.

| Sony HD1000 we also used a tripod to increase the cameras stability for a better shot |
in order to edit our film and radio trailer together we used Final Cut Pro. this software is used by many professionals to create their films therefore we made our film look more professional by using certain techniques to edit our film effectively and be more creative in the editing process.
We used Celtex, a script writing software, to create the final script for the film. this made learning the script easier for the actors.

Improved Film Poster
I have improved our film poster to incorporate the strapline / slogan we used in our radio trailer - 'a hit not to be missed'.
I think by doing this it helps to make our film more memorable to an audience and by having a strapline it reinforces some kind of identity that an audience can associate with our film.

Evaluation 1
In what ways does the media product use, develop or
challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Hit and Miss develops many conventions of real media. We used Final Cut Express to edit together to ensure continuity and an correct flow. We also ensured that 180 degree line rule was kept to ensure that the audience knew that the scene was real and made sense. As our movie continues to run with continuity the audience suspense and reality feels more realistic. This enabled us to maintain conventions of continuity by using those methods.

Here we can see that in this movie the 180 rule was broken. This is something we tried not to do.
Another thing we did as to use editing technology to enhance the atmospheric as well as adding visual effects to make are film look more like conventional and typical movie.
The content of our film is really stereotypically conventional of a urban crime thriller. The movie is filmed in alleys and we have two male actors. This is very stereotypical of crime films and we continued to carry on the same conventions as we though it will be easier to get the reality image to audience if we did so.
Our movie didn't subvert the audience expectations of they expected to see in a crime movie.
Another pastiche we did was time-lapse from Breaking bad. Breaking bad is a tv series not a film however, it still uses time lapses between scenes to show passage of time or change of location.
We used timelapse to show passage of time and to show that we can operate a camera and edit to a professional level.

| This is an example of match on action. My hand reaches for key and in next shot the hand follows to lean over steering wheel. |

This Final Cut and how we used this to edit our film. Its features allowed me to edit the continuity and create a lot more professional finished film.

We used swearing and arguing as a pastiche to many crime movies including The Town. We used arguing as a finish to a movie and a way for them to fail. It is a pastiche as we got a direct idea from one movie and didn't make it into parody. We used this technique of arguing in our film as The Town was successful and in my option it was due to the what happened after the robbery.Another pastiche we did was time-lapse from Breaking bad. I think an audience pleasure our film attempts by providing entertainment. The audience can find escapism in our movie as it provides entertainment and exciting experience.
Richard Dyer theory of entertainment and utopia really suits our film.He believes there are certain utopian sensibilities in films that allows an audience to lose themselves in the film. I think the sensibilities that comply with our film are energy because our film is fast paced and has action, and intensity because our film contains high highs when the robbers pull off a robbery and not get caught and low lows when the rookie killing his partner.
